What's this display icon?
 

Anyone know what the car icon/picture means? I don't recall seeing it before? Now it pops up real quick as I'm starting the x5 but goes away. Should I be concerned?

It is telling you to check control messages in iDrive. Pick the option and see what the message is.

Checked the messages and all systems ok. I did play around with bms assist and the service request option. It says BMW will contact me... Could that be the reason?

It means you are do for some kind of service in 8,000 miles. If you go to your Service area in iDrive it will list a whole bunch of items--the one that is showing due next as far as mileage will be the one that will pop up when you first turn the ignition on.

I started seeing this icon since my "no start in XX miles" DEF warning came in (refill this week).

8K miles is a long time - I woulnd't expect that icon to show up. Perhaps something else? Could be as simple as "ice warning" when temperature hits 37F.
