Cracked fan
 

More bad luck , discovered a rattling in engine today and it seems that the fan is coming on and making a lot of noise , had a look and a section of the circumference of the fan has broken away leaving it to wobble whilst turning thus making the noise , don't know how this would have broken although some work was done on the turbo by the dealer recently , what next ?:bustingup

Get it replaced ASAP, you don't want it to fall apart while doing 90 mph.

Fix that ASAP, I had one do that in my e46 and it fully came apart and took out the rad and fan shield, dealer says half the time the dent the hood and they have to replace he hood also!
