Opinion Wanted For New Vehicle, 2013-2014

Going to do a new lease come next spring. Knowing the X5 will be coming out with a new model around that same time, its making things more interesting for me. :D

Too early to decide, want to see features/options/pricing on the F15. They might outweight challenges around 1st-year model.

I voted next gen X5 bacause a) you have already done the e70 thing, b) you are leasing, so who cares about first model year bugs and c) the new X3 looks good and is a nice vehicle, but I would guess the next gen X5 would be quite an upgrade.

You don't say anything about your intended use, so impossible to pick.

Do you tow significant loads? Do you need 7 seats, even if a few of them are for small children and it results in less luggage space? Are you alone in the car most of the time?

I would be shy of the first model year. X3 looks interesting. Probably X1 for me next.

Towing with a X5? LOL, I would never attempt such a hilarious act.

7 seats would be a plus (LR4), but not a deal breaker.

I would like to be, for some peace and quiet, but the answer is no. LOL

Agree w/ Seth, who cares about the bugs if I will be under warranty.

I am leaning towards the LR4 at this point, but the not free maintenance, and the reputation of the buggy Brit scares me as I need a dependable car that will start each morning, to bring the kids to school.

Those who don't care about bugs due to a vehicle being a lease and/or under warranty have clearly never had a lemon (or near lemon). It is a giant hassle and frustrating waste of time. I suppose if your time is not worth anything, there is no cost involved - but it is still frustrating.

Not that my X5 has been unreliable, but I voted 'other'. The X5 is too big for me, and with the X3 having grown, I don't see the next generation X5 shrinking (even if they do promise lower weight). On the short list for me are the Porsche Macan and Audi allroad. Maybe the new 3-series wagon.

- ESPECIALLY IF YOU DEPEND ON IT FOR DAILY COMMUTE TO WORK AND WEEKEND FAMILY TRIPS!

I need more or less reliable bimmer... Unlikely to go for 1st-year model, but who knows!

Another option you forgot to mention - buying out your current lease. It might be a good deal (it is for me, as I've custom-built it and managed to negotiate good prices and have nearly fully-loaded config, which I enjoy and have no "I wish I've included that feature..." regretts)

Yes, keeping the current (thus far trouble free) X5 would also be a very good choice. But need to take the tax write off advantages lease cars offer me as a business owner.

Lease the new F15 X5. Hell I leased an 07 4.8 right out of the gate and had no problems whatsoever. My 2011 however has had a few electronic malfunctions requiring a couple days in the shop here and there. No big deal but its the kind of stuff I was hoping to avoid by going with the x5 over a rover.

FWIW my lease ends in august, and I am leaning towards the new x5, depending on what the final product looks like. My x still puts a shit eating grin on my face daily, and I expect the next gen to do likewise!
