I've been reading for a while on here, this is my first post!

Hey guys...need a bit of advice. I'm going to trade in my 03' 4.4i sport tommorrow AM for a 08' 4.8i I do like the new one but not 100% sure on it. I really love my 4.4 but its starting to get some miles on it and my warranty is about out.

Here's a link to the new one, Certified Used 2008 BMW X5 4.8i w/ Technology Package For Sale in Lake Bluff & Chicago IL | B10890A

It looks pretty loaded to me, but I'm still not 100% sold on it as I said before. I'm getting it for 37,000 for a CPO seem reasonable only thing I do not like is the wheels. Which I will be looking for the Y-Spoke wheels ASAP.

How is the realibality of these E70's? Better/Worse than the E53's?

Preformance wise, which do you guys like better?

Sorry about the stupid questions...it's been a LONG day.

Thanks!

Good price. I just bought mine for $38k. Almost exact same vehicle. Differences are, yours has rear heated seats and premium sounds, mine has nappa leather, dark bamboo, and 20" wheels. Mine had 40k miles and CPO.
Never drove a 4.4, however, I love mine. Good power and great handling. Looks better too, IMO.
If you like it, get it. The CPO will help ease any big issues. Do you have any factory warranty left? Mine is good until July, so I am getting every little thing I can find, taken care of.
They are replacing the rear door shadowline trim, due to a peeling spot, and the right side roof rack, as there is some bubbling under the paint in one spot.
Plus I am getting the brake fluid changed as it is due, and still under free maintenance.

Yes it's still under factory warranty untill 6/30/2012 then the CPO kicks in. I think I'm just gonna get it...you only live once lol.

You'll love it. I've gone thru several cars in the last few years, and I think I'll hang onto this one for a while.

So far I like it. Needs wheels bad tho. I'm really not a fan of the 19"

reliability with all the gadgets and sensors these days is undoubtedly worse. It's worse than my '95 Isuzu. But you know you still want an E70. I got an extended warranty, total 8 years which is the max.

19s are a very good day to day wheel. i wouldn't have the 20s. mine is a DD and it has yet to let me down, 89K miles. but it doesn't snow here, and when it does we drink and stay home.

now if you are so inclined and as you live in the frozen tundra i would suggest you consider 20s for summer and 18s (if you can believe them Canadians) for snow.

I have a set of 18" for the winter from my E53 for the snow. The 20s look so good, so I think that's the way I'm going to go.

Pretty sure E53 wheels won't fit.
