Lux v3 problem
Got them in, they work when the head lamps are on. When you unlock the truck they did work 3 times now they quit ... But still work when I put the headlamps on. Has this happend to anyone else? For 259.00 bucks these should work all the time.
|
I think they go on a few times when u lock and unlock the X, but then they wont go on until you start the X5 again. Ive had mine for over a year and never had a problem with them.
|
Maybe, I wasn't 100% clear. Normaly when you unlock the X the angel eyes come on. I installed the LUX V3's and the first 3 or 4 times I unlocked it they came on as they should. Now all of a sudden they don't come on when you unlock the X. They do work as normal day time running lamps and when the head lamps are on.

Did you try putting the headlight switch in auto mode? I've heard about some flickering issue with the Lux that goes away in auto mode.
|
If they stopped working all together I would send it back. If you're talking about hitting the unlock button on your key and the first 3 or 4 times they light up but stop working until you start the car, then this is normal. Also, they flicker which is a different issue which can be fixed by getting your lights to auto.

Maybe check the parking light fuse?

OP must have turned the headlight dial from the always on to some other one. (auto or off). The angels only come on when unlocking with the dial at the on position.

Well it's obviously not the bulbs since the stock bulbs don't work either. Are you getting any warning messages?

Have you tried at night time, low light condition?

Yes, it's not working. I have to take it to the dealer next week I'm going to have them look at it. It's not really that huge of a issue I just want to make sure it's not going to ruin or did ruin my truck. |
FWIW I have lux v3's and I noticed this exact same thing like the next day. Its roughly 70/30 whether they turn on with unlock or not. I frankly don't care but when it first happened I was like wtf. Let me know how it turns out for ya.

I had this issue, it was my battery. Get your battery tested fully, if you do not have a healthy battery, the X will stop using the angel eyes when you unlock as it uses battery which it looks to save being in a degraded state.
|
And it was directly after installing Lux V3s. This issue was not related to the V3s either, the problem was my battery entirely.

They do, but for whatever reason my X was more sensitive to them than the old bulbs. Sure enough though, I replaced the battery and all is well!
I have a thread out here on the topic to and it has the entire story: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...3-install.html |
It was the battery. My question is of they use less power then how come the stock bulbs worked before I installed the Lux? But when I put the stock ones back in they stopped working. Strange.
