Service interval reset for E70?

Just finished flushing break lines and changing oil for first time beyond service contract. All is well. Easily done but I do not know how to reset interval indicators and there's no info in the "How to's". I would greatly appreciate some guidence from someone in the know.

This was posted for the F10 at Bimmerfest F10 forum. Let us know if you try it:

"So how to reset your oil service light?
Put ignition on, do not start the engine.
Hold the ODO button for 10 seconds.
You get in to a menu.
By short pushing the ODO you scroll through this menu.
By holding the ODO on a certain parameter for somewhat longer you may reset if the system is clear for that.
Very easy."

Be keen to know if this works.

I'm guessing that my system is not clear for resetting. Following the direction and I've accessed the menu and the 8 sub menu's. In holding the button for reset the system just reverts back to primary menu. I'm also not clear as to what I might be resetting. I think the abbreviated text is in German.
There is an item on option 19 that is labeled "LOCK ON" Might turning this off open the reset function? Grateful for the help. Eddie

The driver's door must be closed to access the reset function.

...and once it says "reset" it's only a quick push of the button. Don't push and hold at that point.

This will help.

How to Reset Service Interval

The main points here are;
Doors Closed
Don't put your foot on the brake.

The rest is pretty straight forward.

Great find. Thanks for sharing.

Once service reminder has been reset, what number does it go to? Zero, the next service interval point, or can you choose a service interval point?

Hammer, I don't know exactly.

It would make sense that it would be the next service interval, but this is just a guess.

It will go to the 'BMW programmed' interval.

I 'divide by two'...
