Does anyone know where to buy the fuel filter? I'm looking around and so far I've only seen one from Turner Motor Sports for $200+ because it comes with the heating unit, and the other is for $30 bucks from eBay(nuff said about the $30 one).

Here is a RealOEM link (for a 2010 USA model, anyway). The part # is 13327811227. I doubt that the part changes for different years, but you can plug in your date of manufacture (or VIN number) on RealOEM to be sure.

No, because the pump stops running as soon as you pull the fuse. It's literally impossible for it to run "dry" unless you sucked all the diesel out of the tank before doing that.

I am talking about the HPFP not the fuel feeder pump in the tank.High pressure fuel pump is driven mechanically and puling the fuse off will not stop pump turning.When you change your filter,if you don't do ignition cycle to fill up the lines and filter with diesel,then chances are there for the pump to run dry until feeder pump pushes diesel.Thats why rheingold suggests to cycle the ignition on/off couple of times to prime the lines and filter.
