So Im at the gas station and a guy pulls...
next to me as im filling up my 2011 black x5. I have tinted windows all around, and I put in the black kidney grille, Just out of the car wash. As the guy gets out of the car, he asked me How do I like the new ford edge? So im thinking is he talking to me? I told him its a BMW X5 and he said oh! Sorry It looks like my wifes ford edge again. He tells me they are almost the same size and shape. He is driving a old ass Audi. Than he goes on to tell me that his wife loves hers and wanted to know if I liked mine. Nice! Nothing like droping over 60k and people thinking its a ford Edge. Ouch!

I really don't care a bit what other people think of my cars.... I don't 'drop" money to elicit responses from people.
|
Some people are clueless, and some of that group are 'car clueless'...
but, that would only make me laugh. Drive whatcha like; doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it, imo. But, that Edge remark is why there are lots of other brands out there in SUV land, loaded with goodies, selling well, that don't cost $60Gs and north, way north... GL, mD |
crossovers are morphing more and more into each other. Last generation's SUVs were more boxy... the original Pathfinders and Blazers with the sharp edges. These days I see the rear of a Hyundai Tucson and wonder if we copied them or they copied BMW.
The same can really be said for typical passenger cars. Years ago you could tell what it was from headlights or taillights in the dark... now it's practically impossible. Anyway, the Edge [Sport] with the 22s is actually the only other crossover I would buy because of looks. |
4 doors, 4 wheels... yeap, looks the same! ;)
