A/C Evaporator
 

I have now gone through 5 evaporators. Last July I was told BMW changed manufacturers and this would not be a problem. Low and behold last week the same thing happened. My X5 is now out of warranty, however the evaporator put in last year has a 2 year warranty and this one will as well. I am happy that the they are taking care of me but this is getting down right annoying. Has anyone else been through this many evaporators. I live in AZ so I am sure I use the AC more than most but still...

Holy cow, that's crazy! I've only had one evap go bad - that was on my 2002 X5. It went bad in 2011 at around 100k miles (slow leak). The estimate to replace was around 3k, so we just traded up to a new 2012 X5 instead.

I live in Phoenix too, and haven't heard anything about the weather causing evaporators to go bad.

I have 09 4.8 going in for a evaporator replacement. Looks like they are going to take apart the dash, etc. I'm a bit worried they are not going to put it back together correctly. Anything I should look for after the repairs are made? The only consolation it's under warranty.
