Squeaks from hell!!

Salutations fellow bimmer lovers,

I purchased an CPO 08 4.8 a few months ago and there are a lot of squeaks from the plastic panels that I just can't seem to get rid of.

-plastic trim around the lower portion of the driver seat (squeaks when you even move your leg side to side let alone going over uneven pavement)

-vent peice located just below the navi screen

-lower trunk door, the piece that bridges the gap covering the hinges from being exposed

If anyone has any ideas on how to remove them and a solution, I will be forever in your debt lol!

BMW said I am out of the squeaks and rattle warranty and they'd charge me labour fees and won't be able to guarantee a solution...

Ask them to show you the 'squeaks and rattle warranty' in your warranty booklet(s).

The seat issue has been a known problem in some models. There have been many posts about fixes if you search. As far as the rest---have you first checked to see if your tire pressure is ok, tires are aligned correctly, etc?

And if they are not able to produce these details in writing..... thell them you want them to try to fix the squeaks anyways but with no guaranteed that you will pay unless the squeals are fixed for good.

The squeaks and rattle is only covered for the first year of the original purchase date of the vehicle according to them

Really? I have searched aimlessly on this site and google and can't seem to find the info. I will have at her again. Do you remember what the title may have been

And yes, tire pressure is good. the car tracks fine in terms of alignment and I have never hit anything including large pot holes since i purchased it...I assume it should come out of the dealership with proper alignment?

My dealer fixed rattles for me after one year under warranty.

My dealer tried, but I still hear the cracks and rattles (door, below nav, somewhere in the back, seat, etc).

Oddly enough they greased up the rear seat springs and that one went away...

I managed to find a couple of threads but no real solution aside from getting a new seat...

I had the same noise under my nav screen as well. I also have an 08. And last year (2011) they took apart the entire dash and fixed the noise. All under warranty. Car is now "bank vault" quite!!

I think i remember them saying it was an "incomplete weld"

my dealership just sent me a pdf on the warranty limitations and it states for squeaks and creeks, it is 1yr or 20000kms of original purchase date.. sigh...

been reading other forums and it's amazing how many people have taken their vehicles apart by themselves bit by bit to stick on foam pieces here and there just to see if it makes things more bearable... this is crazy..
