x5 2009 USB port,
How big is the size i can use on the port, i know i have used a 8 gig thumbdrive it works, i tried using a 80 gig external harddrive and other larger size it doesn. Any ideas?

If using a HD (as opposed to USB stick), try using an externally powered hard drive. I don't think the USB port of the X5 have enough power to power a hard drive.

Hammer so ur saying i can use any size as long as is powered? I will try that

It was the case on another vehicle I have and it worked. I haven't tried it on my X5 yet.

In theory you could use any size provided you can find a drive that is low power or powered via cigarette lighter and it's formatted FAT32. You'll need to use special software as windows restricts drive size under Fat32
But even after all of that, idrive is only able to catalog so much content. I think the limit is 20,000 songs for the CIC. I suspect for the CCC it's less. |
