DME update for 2011 35i?

I have a 2011 X5 35i. A friend of mine mentioned I should look into any DME or transmission software updates. Does anyone know if there are any available and what they potentially improve?

I dont know the answer, but I just bought a 2013 and the transmission is perfect.
