Eco credit

Hi all.

Does anybody know is Eco credit still alive for 35D model and how much is that ? Also, what are the news for new model X5 ...when it should come up to the market.

Thanks.

yes, it's $4500 right now, but I don't know when it ends. if you attended the drive for the olympics this past weekend, you get another $1000 off. You might want to check with your local dealer to see if they've had the event yet.

I want to say LeMansX5 posted the e70 will end production next summer.

According to the latest Car and Driver, there will be no 2013 X5d; there will be M Performance packages (not to be confused with the current M Sport package) available for the gasoline versions for 2013. I expect the new model to be a 2014, making its public showing at one of the auto shows next year, with deliveries in the fall.

The production schedule I saw showed "End of E70 production" as July 2013. But BMW is known to change schedules. MY2012 X5 was supposed to end 7/2012 per schedule printouts I saw with dealer, but ended in March 2012.
2014 X5 press release can be out as early as December 2012 with NY auto show debut in spring 2013 and in showrooms thereafter.

Thank you all for replies. No MY2013 X5 diesel sucks, but it's a good chance to wait for next model year. I hope it will be out soon and better than today's model.

Car and Driver is wrong. I have confirmed from two different sources. There will be 2013 X5 35d.

Now that makes a lot more sense! Thanks LMX5. Wonder who dropped the ball at C&D...

Is the eco credit 3,500 or 4,500 through the end of the month?

It's $4,500, but there's no definitive end date on it.

dnadrifter 09-01-2012 11:51 PM

I had a dealer today say the Eco credit was going away on tues. he said he wasn't sure if or what the next one would be.

Thunder22 09-02-2012 12:09 AM

So I guess the big question is, does the eco credit apply to when you order the car or when you take delivery? It had better be when it was ordered or I'm backing out of my deal.

dnadrifter 09-02-2012 02:05 AM

He told me it was when you take delivery. Don't know what the true story is though.

Thunder22 09-04-2012 08:29 AM

Eco-credit extended through October 1st.

Lots of wasted energy by me worrying about this over the weekend. pffft.

I have no any problems with my diesel and actually like it a lot, but it's 2011 MB GL350. Sometimes I kind of miss my X5 ( I used to have 2007 X5 4.8) and I'm thinking to switch back to X5 diesel, but I think i'll wait till the new model comes up next year and then will chose between GL and X5.
