A B2 blend is beneficial for cetane and lubricity, but anything over that is not necessary and may be harmful with a bad batch. Using large volume truck stations should rule out that problem.

IIRC there is a company Green Gallon Solutions in the US that processes waste vegetable oil into ASTM Biodiesel.

In my petrol powered car, I also make the trek to the only ethanol free station to fill up in my area. I think once straight gas is unobtainable, I'll need to look into a natural gas conversion.

I filled up today with B5 at a Sunoco, didn't see the sticker until it was too late. But from what I've read, BMW is ok with up to B5. I'm going to check the Hess by my office once I've run the 520 miles it will take to empty the tank of the B5 :)

This thread worries me. All the stations (I'm talking an upwards of 20 different stations/companies) all say it may contain up to 10% biodiesel. I'm in Houston and I'm not sure a station with pure diesel exists here.. what am I supposed to do?

I had noticed a drop in my mileage on the GL and sort of put 2 and 2 together, little sticker reads "may contain up to 20% biodiesel"

I filled up at a different station and already I am up at least 10% economy, car runs fine still but not worth it.

The manual of my '11 X5d says you can use up to B10 (10% biodiesel)
