I love the technology that came with mine. Especially the HUD.

It's that button right by your emergency brake. When engaged, the brakes will be applied to hold the car when stopped without the need to keep your foot on the brake. It's usefull when stopped for a long time in traffic or at a red light.

What happens if you hit the Auto Hold button while the X5 is moving? I nearly did this as I was told it was for stop and go traffic.

If you hit the button while the car is still moving, you just turn on the auto hold (or turn it off if it was already on) but nothing else happens. The car keeps going normally until you stop, then the auto hold takes effect and you can remove your foot from the brake. The car is now held in place by the auto hold. The second you hit the gas, the auto hold disengages, until you stop the car again...

The default is for auto hold to be off. So, one has to remember to press the auto hold button to engage the system. I wish one could change the default and have auto hold be on all the time until one turns it off.

I love the auto hold. One of the tech I love about the car.

The overall enjoyment and excitement I get when driving
. . . .caused by:

- The 5.0's awesomely powerful motor integrated smoothly with 8 speed transmission
- Simply unbelievable Adaptive Drive Suspension
- Heads-Up-Display

Went and drove a preowned 2012 Lexus GX470 a couple days ago. 11K miles, and it still costs 60K!
After getting out of that thing, I fell in love with my 35d again.
When I handed the keys back to the sales guy, he said "Different, huh?".
I said "Yes, very different, in a bad way". He said "Well, Lexus tries to isolate you from outside". To what I replied, "Yes indeed, they isolate you from driving".

The interior of the GX is nice and all, but everything screams "Toyota!!" at you. Toyota for 60K... too much.

I won't go into details about styling, driving feel, visibility...:yikes:
