Just left the dealer and bought the truck! X5 50i m sport!
I jut wanted to thank all of the members who gave me advice before I ended up placing my order. As of 20 minutes ago I am officially going to be the proud owner of a 2013 x5 50i m sport m performance ad premium2 multi contour, premium audio BMW apps! Yeahhhhhh baby!
Just got back from the dealer, left my 1000 deposit on visa, and signed on everything! I left my deposit and got my production number already. Do you guys have any idea how long it will take approximately until I get my car delivered? Dom |
My diesel took about 4 weeks from order to delivery. It all depends upon where the dealer has slots.
|
Mine was about 4 weeks too.
Congrats. |
Yep, just over a month for me
|
Congrats! About 6 weeks for mine. You can track production status under "My BMW" on the BMWUSA website.
|
Thanks guys! That's what the dealer told me. Exactly 4 weeks give or take. Thanks again for all the help. Haven't been this excited since 2002. I had bought a new 4.6is and also bought a 2003 cobra convertible a few weeks later! Business was good back than. Now it's going to be me, my 1998 mountaineer beater and my new 50i ! Woot!

Mine took about 4 weeks. |
you live in NY, you should get it in 2-3 weeks after productions starts.

"signed everything"????? Trust you didnt sign anything binding.
Anyway, hope the order goes fast... A |

Yes I signed my contract on the order and left my 1000 deposit. Not sure what you mean!? |

99.9% of cars are ordered without a signed and binding contract, just FYI. Just saying you would be one of the 0.1 percenters. ;) Lots of us left deposits, very common. 99.9% of which were refundable if we changed our mind, or the dealer jerked us around with slipping delivery schedules. If you did sign a contract does it have any performance clauses on the part of the dealer? Like they need to give me the car by December or I can get a refund, or is it just open ended, they can take however long they want? Anyway, I tend to look at what can go wrong- and not count on everything going right...occupational hazard. GL A |
Hey man, There was a pink sales/ build sheet that every customer has to sign in the bottom right corner when buying a car. It is not a contract. It is just signing that you left a deposit and agree with the terms. . If you would like, i can get you in touch with my sales rep at rallye BMW where I bought the truck and maybe he can explain how the sale happens.
For me. 1.) I built the car online and hand my rep the build printout from bmwusa.com Told him this is exactly what I want 2.) we negotiated pricing and agreed on pricing 3.) I filled out the personal credit application from bmwfs. And signed the 2nd page section d. 4.) got approved than he filled out the build order form and I left a 1000 deposit and also signed the bottom right hand corner to make sure everything was what I wanted and to verify the deal is ready to be sent to production. Does that make me the one percent? Ps- not trying to be aggressive or confrontational in my reply but it seems you were questioning the validity of my purchase. |
Just called the production build status number and vehicle is already in production. Scheduled completion date of October 19th. 8 days away. Is it just me or does that seem really fast? Lol I am excited though!
|
He's not questioning the validity of your purchase, he's asking if you signed anything binding that would prohibit you from walking away from the deal if anything was not to your liking when the car arrives.
Everyone is just trying to help you. |
No I definitely didn't sign anything binding. And I know everyone is trying to help. That is why I have been thanking everyone emphatically for the last 3 days in these threads. Even the title of the thread has me thanking everyone. Lol but I definitely misunderstood what you meant ARD. Thank you for your concern with a contract I definitely didn't have anything binding. I guess by signing a contract I just meant the build order form and credit application. Definitely nothing binding. Sorry for the confusion and any overly aggressive response. My apologies.

Seems like the answer is "no"- so you are back in the 99.9% ;) It is hard for folks to grasp that this process is actual informal and non-binding in the end. Great that it is moving along so quickly... A |

Can I be a loser and admit to calling the bmw build production status 800 number 3 times today even though I knew the status was on production and wouldnt change at al?? LOL LOSER ALERT! |

Plus, I currently ordered the M Perf Package with 440hp so I may wait a few years until I get the Dinan Stage 2 + Intercooler Package. Heck, I may be completely satisfied with my 440 hp for the entirety of my 50i owning days. Cheers fellas! |
oh yeah... guys.
1.) Usually when do we get the build production video sent to us at BMWUSA.com to watch our car being run through the factory? I heard it is 4 days after production starts? 2.) When I go to track my order on MYBMW website. My model is correct, 2013 X5 50i and my color is correct: Black Sapphire Metallic. But my options are incorrect. It lists m sport, m perf, prem 2, prem audio, but it doesnt list the dark burl walnut trim color, it doesnt list multi contour seats upgrade, it doesnt list bmw apps, and it doesnt list 20" wheel upgrade. not to mention it doesnt list Adaptive Drive. Is it normal for the specs to be messed up on the order tracking page? Thanks fellas, as usual! Dom |
If the dealer used an existing build slot, your order/options just might not have caught up in the system yet. The color and options on mine was wrong for about 5 days.

im not sure I could handle the wait.
ive been mulling over dumping my 4.8 for a 50i every single day ive had it for the last 3 months ive owned it and I actualky love it. its just to ponder how much more awesome it could be withthe 8sd, more hp and twin turbo. |

It's my 3rd TT (or Twin scroll turbo for the X1) and it is a pretty pleasant feeling (even for the X1 when floored". Maybe not such a good idea after all. If you try one out, you may end up buying it on the spot... It's that much fun ! As for the 8spd, I had it on the X1, and it's a nice addition. Less jerky than the 6spd but for the 4 cyl, it was always looking for the right speed, unless you used the Sport mode. |

I just went through same experience with my 2013 335 order - the online info on my build was incorrect until the vehicle entered production. All along the way the dealer was confirming he sees correct info in his ordering system, and the day it went production, the online info has updated to correct one... The web site is well known to show incorrect info up until last moment, so I probably wouldn't worry much.
|
i think dealer has to receive the code 150 to really signify your car went into production. My online info was incorrect until the Dealer emailed me "code 150, production started" After that, the online info was updated and correct. Seriously took 2 weeks for my car to finish/deliver. Hope you get yours soon! Wait was agonizing, and I was in Italy for vacation, racking up a international data bill checking on the progress!
