Warranty & Features

Hi all,

I may not be posting this right but here it goes anyways.

I purchased 2009 x5 about three weeks ago that have the original warranty that will expire in June 2013. After driving my Sapphire Black :D beammer I realized the speakers seem to blown or not sounding right and buttons 4, 5, 6 are sticking. Hard to push in.

I also realized that the radio does not come on when i push the power buttons when my keys are not in the ignition.

So packed my self up and went down to the dealer ship and the service guy said only one of the speakers are not working, but I told him they are all out, he said that we will go from there. I then mention about the radio should come on if the key is not in the ignition he said it does not work on that model. Well I don't know why it would change. I use to drive a 2004 x5 and speakers were awesome and the radio did come on without the key in the ignition.

Also my signal (blinker) does not work :dunno: during 3 seconds.

:( What my question is, does your radio come on when you remove the key from the ignition in the 2009?

:stickpoke What can I do to get them work on this situation?

What do you mean by this?

I believe he means that the one touch turn signal feature, which flashes three times and then stops, doesn't function. But I could be wrong...

OP: If that is it, the feature is simply turned off in iDrive. Turn it back on.

The left and right signal lights does not function the way it suppose to. If you hold and release before the click it should stay on for 3 seconds.

Only if you have turned hat feature on in i-drive.

The owner's manual has a lot of helpful information such as this, You might find reading it useful.

I have a 2009 35d. My radio turns on without the key in (never had a problem). As far was the 3 second turn signal, you need to turn it on in I-drive like everyone else here is saying. I'd recommend going to a different dealer too.

1. OP, did you fix the signal issue in iDrive?

2. Not sure I agree the radio will work without the key...my recollection is 'no', but wait for a few people to reply before you decide you have the right answer (and not just the one you are looking for...) :)

3. My 2010 had an issue with the presets not working properly (not a 'sticking' issue, which TO ME seems to indicate soomeone spilled a sugar drink onto the radio) and some issues with selecting the proper discs...they wound up spending ~ $3500 on radio, dvd/cd charnger and programming. Under warranty.
