07 X5 plastic key limitations?
 

Hi all,

Can I use the valet key (plastic fob with key insert) for normal driving? Someone told me that I can't drive far with it? I can start the engine and drive it around the block.

Page 28 of your MY Manual sez:
"Spare key for storage in a safe place,
such as in your wallet. This key is not
intended for continuous use."

Dunno what that means; I assume it means you can start car and drive it, but it will wear out after awhile...

I have driven with mine quite a distance without limitations.
I could be wrong but From my perspective continuous use
means daily use.
