I tow a E46 328i on an aluminum 18' featherlight trailer. It tows perfect without a WD hitch.
The nice thing about towing a car, is you can move it to get the weight distribution the way you want it.
I used a WD setup on my F150, with the same car and trailer, and the X5 towes it just as well. YMMV

How many of you are towing without a load leveling suspension?

Just curious. Been in the market for a pre owned with load leveling but there are a lot more available without it.

I didn't get the rear self leveling on my x5d due to the inherent future expense of replacing the airbags.
My setup tows great without issue or sway up to 80mph = amazing tow vehicle.
But next time around and especially since the new F15 offers rear airbags with no 3rd row...I would get that, just cause I dont like the little bit of sag when towing....makes the setup look amateur.
