Idrive seldom response when press enter/select
 

My 2008 X5 idrive is acting up now. Press up, down, right, left still okay, but press menu or select something barely works. Sometimes, I have to keep pressing for 15 - 20 min to get it work, sometimes, it doesn't work at all. Is it fixable or have to replace the whole control? Please help!!! Thanks in advance.

I'd take it apart and try and clean the contacts.

BUT, unless you find a very unusual mechanic (or DIY), the fix for something like that is to replace the actuator. (Which you may wind up doing anyway.)

I dont know. There are a few threads on upgrading the idrive system, perhaps those would give you an idea of whats involved. One persons 'easy' is another's "crazy hard"
