Running boards OEM vs. EBAY

Has anyone installed the eBay versions ( $350.00) if so any input on quality, fit & finish vs OEM? I'm not really concerned about how much load they will bear, as they are mainly for looks.

And I know.... They get your pants DIRTY.

Thanks

:stickpoke no one has aftermarket?

You asked about "the ebay version". It was a dumb question so I, and apparently 108 others, ignored it.

At the very least, a link to ONE of the ebay versions would help.....

Dang... Rough crowd around here... :) Here is the link to the aftermarket ones listed on ebay
BMW E70 x5 07 12 3 0SI 4 8i Xdrive 30i 48i 35D 50i Aluminum Running Board Step | eBay
Any help would be appreciated.

This looks like an OEM one, with the OEM part #. But from the description, I'm not getting the feeling it is OEM and it's pretty damn pricey for one.

A cheaper knockoff here:
BMW E70 07 12 x5 3 0SI 4 8i 3 5D Xdrive Aluminum Running Boards Side Step Kit | eBay

"Plastic and aluminum" parts. Is this what the OEM version is made of also?

Here's an authentic OE listing for much cheaper than your link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-BMW-...4ac6d7&vxp=mtr

Don't buy aftermarket. Buy from BMW dealer on eBay like this one. Only $399 plus shipping.

That being said, my recommendation is not to buy them at all... :)

Yes that is what I was talking about... Not sure how I posted the others link... Seller must be smoking crack thinking they could get that for them... Heck you can have OEM installed for that or less.

Here is the link I meant to post....
07 Up x5 E70 Running Boards Factory Style BMW SUV SAV V8 4WD AWD M Power | eBay

Any imput on these by someone that has ordered them would be great.... I'm about to pull the trigger, but would like some feedback

Nice find! I think I will print out and take to my local BMW dealer ( 2nd largest in the country) and see if they will price match.
Thanks!!!!
I know opinions are strong pro and con... Personally I just think the x5 looks better with them. I live in a pretty mild climate, and park in a garage bot at home and at work, so my car is not dirty too often, so I am not overly concerned with the whole dirty pants thing... @ 6’3” surely I can step over them:rofl:

just to play devils advocate... Why do you have such a strong opinion against aftermarket? There are some great aftermarket products available for BMW's
Exhausts, wheels, body kits etc.... Don't get me wrong I think OEM quality is great, just not sure why you can't expect as good or better from tuners / aftermarket companies.

At 6'4" I find them a royal pain. I have only had them on E53 and E70 loaners and rentals, not on my own X5. I would take them off if I had the misfortune to own them. I do understand the looks thing - but IMO form follows function, and they are disfunctional.
