autoweek...

Anyone see the Autoweek review of the X5?

2013 BMW X5 xDrive35i review notes - Autoweek

They test a 2013 X5 35 M Sport with the performance package.

I'm not sure if this is poor writing, poor research, or a poor job on the part of BMW NA in providing information on the cars...

Pictures look to be from a premium, but not US spec...(missing reflector in front of the wheel where the side view camera goes) and in a color that isn't available on the M Sport (Bronze)

They list the power for the regular car, don't discuss the power bump that the performance package provides, or even that the car has it. But it's listed in the options...

Then after all that, complain about a price of over $70k on a car with $13k worth of options that they barely discuss...

I was going to post on their site but refuse to join facebook to do it.

rant over, thanks for reading:)

I have not read the article, and what you wrote sounds like a reasonable assessment to me... But more than anything else I agree with you on having to join Facebook in order to join or comment on other sites. I find that to be ridiculous.

It's interesting they keep mentioning the JGC against the X5 which makes zero sense since they go after completely different markets...

The condensed opinions of a couple people that work for AutoWeek, most of it favorable. Can't say that I disagree with anything they wrote. The Jeep is built on a platform shared with the X5's direct competitor, the MB ML, so it is not outrageous to compare the three. I drove the Jeep before getting the X5, and thought it was great for the price; it will be interesting to see how it is with the upcoming diesel. The photos are BMW press photos.
