My New E70 - 2007 X5 Alpine White

Hey guys,

I am not new to the forum but I thought I would just share my X5 journey with you guys.

I had a 2002 X5 which I bought preowned a few years ago. I drove that baby over 150K miles and I LOVED IT. It was my "dream car" at one point. The handling everything was perfect. The only thing I did not like in my version was everything was plain and simple. No Navi, No Bluetooth, No xenon etc.

So I modded it up. Did the retrofits and made it mine. I sold it because I wanted a upgrade.

Last week I bought a 2007 Alphine White with all the bells and whistles. Navi, 3rd row seating the works, (just no ipod and sports package).

I just wanted to say I LOVE X5's and I will always have one in my garage.

Anything I need to know? Any tips? Leave them below.

Thanks for reading.

any tips? Yeah, a good warranty unless you have deep pockets. Good luck.

It's not all doom and gloom sheesh. If you can turn a wrench or know a good INDY tech it's not bad. Try Route66 warranty at a local credit union if you are a member. They are pretty good for extended warranties and it is exclusionary.

I agree with this tip! I've had more problems with our 2007 X5 4.8 than any other car we've ever had. I'm on this forum now looking what it SHOULD cost to get our 3rd $1000 oil leak fixed.

You can expect the rear shocks to leak down, the throttle to stick, transmission problems, electric seat problems (which BMW refused to cover even though they failed under warranty). Oh, and did I mention repeating oil leaks?

Oh man.

Mine has over 100k miles on it too. Guess I should get the 3rd party warranty.

Let us know what you figure out with that. I'd be surprised if you could get any decent warranty after 100k.

Yeah, I'd be interested in what you find out on a warranty as well. Ours has about 80K.
