Weathertech Floorliners

I ordered a set of WeatherTech floorliner mats for my 35d. This product is really disappointing. The passenger and second row mats fit tight. But the driver mat is about ½ inch too small all around. It constantly slides around. They are all made of thin, shinny plastic, with no grip underneath to hold them in place. I called their customer service and I was told that I had to use Velcro to hold the driver side mat from moving around! Really? How about selling a mat that actually fits? McNeil never misses an opportunity to tell Americans that these mats are made in the USA. Sorry to say that the quality of this product does not live up to the hype. Bottom line, this is a cheaply made product that is way overpriced.

I've put Weathertech's in all of my cars over the years, I've never had one slide around. If you don't like them, just return them. Ez pz.

My Weathertechs have Velcro on the back and came with the screw in Velcro mat locks for the floor of the car. Did yours not come with them?

My Weathertechs rock, over 100K miles on them and still kickin azz........

I'm thinking that the driver side mat might be defective. It is really too small for the footwell. I could nail it down but it will still not fit well. I had Weathertech mats in my Volvo many years ago. As I remember, it was a much better product. Sorry but what they sell today does not worth $200+ IMO. I'll check out what the dealer sells and I might return them. If others are happy with them, that's good to hear. Cheers

I do have the OEM on my wife's X5 and very happy with them. If you return the Weathertech's, give the OEM a shot.

I have the OE ones and mine aren't exactly "tight" fitting. They are molded correctly, but the mats don't sit flush at every edge.

Strange, mine fit perfectly and do not slide around at all. I find them to be ideal here in the Minnesota winters. Are you using the factory hooks to anchor yours? Please see my attached picture. There are two hooks on the floor which line up and hold onto the mat to keep it secure. These mats are marked "BMW", but they are made by weathertech.

They suck on the X5! I wrote a letter to Mr Macneill with some helpful feedback a few years ago and did not receive a reply. My floor liners let muddy water spill over the left side of the driver mat. The lip was way to low. The fit was poor. I now use the simple factory BMW rubber mats and they are a lot better. I used to feel like I had a kitty litter box under my feet all of the time.

So, what color are they and how much do you want for them?

jeremym 02-23-2013 11:15 PM

I got my BMW liners from pacific BMW for about 50% off. Check there.

I didn't think there was much room for them to slide around :dunno: mine came with the Velcro fasteners but I haven't felt the need to use them.

I just bought mine for the X5...They were the weathertec liner models. They fasten via the hooks that screw on where the OEM carpet mats go. Mine are great and do not slide around. They hold water better and have much better coverage than the Rubber OEM mats I used to have. I think the two minor complaints is that they are hard plastic and can be slippery and do not go as high up on the front foot well as the rubber mats.

They were on my 2007 X5. the lease ended in 2009.
