Disable steering wheel telescoping back when stop the car

Hi every body, I know there is another thread about it in the E53 forum, and I was aware of the tips mentioned there. But I have an E71. What bothers me, is that when I stop the engine and get out of the car, the steering wheel goes back. The car didn't do it when I bought it, but after a trip to the Stealership, it started to do it. I tried everything, like setting the memory when the steering wheel is al the way in, and it still does it. I haven't tried swapping the FOB's. But does any one else here thinks it is annoying? And most of all, does any one know, how to disable it? It was staying at the set position before so I know it is possible, without disconnecting any cables under the seat

Thanks in advance

PS: Yes I know this is E70 section, but there are more threads here than in the E71 :)

it is a programming feature in the E53, so, it has to be same in the E70/71... for E53 we would use a cable and NCSExpert... do you have those, and know how to use them? otherwise, unless the function is available in your iDrive, you need to talk to the dealer...

Terminator thank you for the answer. I have never used that system. I will look it up. In the idrive there are no options for this settings. I have been looking. But I have read on another forum that other people had the same experience, and person found out that by playing around with the steering wheel eventually makes it loose the memory setting. Do I need a device and computer to use that ncs expert?

I wish I could KEEP my X5 doing it. Usually it works for a couple weeks and then stops retracting automatically. It only fixes itself when I set it all the way in/up and then back out. It always works after a dealer trip, even just after an oil change. Weird.
