02/2007 X5, swaped seats but...

1 Attachment(s)
Got seats from a 2008 X5 in the 2007 one, but the plugs are different, at least there is a small yellow one with a few pins (not the large usual one) that plugs to nothing > this is on the passenger side.

On the driver side, there is a small black one, and the same yellow one, again can't be plugged in.

I suspect those plugs are for the headrest airbag system, which was introduced in 09/2007 on the X5 is if my information is correct.

The X5 in question was built in 02/2007.

Would anyone know for sure, because as a consequence the airbag light is up now. I cleared it, but comes back straight up. Complaining about the mat sensor on the passenger side and another error I can't remember.

Anyone?

Thank you

yellow and orange plugs, connectors - are of airbags... did you check the WDS for the wiring of the seat mat?

Yeah well this is part of the airbag plug obviously, but since the 07 car does not have a plug to connect to this, not sure if these seats can be retrofited at all.

As for checking the wiring diagram for the 08 model that is going to be tough on TIS, since it does not cover 07+ models.

Would anyone be kind enough to take a picture of those plugs underneath their seats on a 08 model?

Cheers

See if you can get a print out from WDS from your dealership. There is a bunch of links for WDS online, but as you know, I think they go up to 2008 after which BMW stopped distributing them via DVD

I know that's my site ;)

I think the best thing to do is to transfer the actual trim to the old seat and be done with it.

Thanks guys
