I'll say I'm not a plasti-dip fan (at all)

but it looks like you did a great job of applying it. Looks evenly applied and consistent.

(IMHO i'd do the roof too)

brian5 03-29-2013 07:21 PM

1naztyx5,

Wow

Not actually sure how I feel about that but it's definitely interesting...

Oops, didn't notice that you didn't do the roof

jeremym 03-29-2013 07:29 PM

You need to smoke the lights..they look too bright on a matte vehicle...and I'm not really a fan of smoked lights.

ukrcan 03-29-2013 08:16 PM

if done properly, plastidip can look really well...

Nice looking truck, but i agree about the lights... if you are doing a black scheme, i think the lights need to be a bit darker, IMO...
Are you planning on painting the roof?

sarends 03-29-2013 08:46 PM

Sorry, loved the original look, but then I love Alpine White!

1naztyx5 03-29-2013 08:48 PM

Thanks for the feed back guys, am not done yet. I ran out of daylight and the temperature has not been the best lately and this is crucial for the dip (learned the hard way) she needs another two coats and yes the roof is getting done :) ... As far as the lights am still debating if should smoke the white strip or not I don't like the the smoked tail light look specially if it has to be paint or tint which upon removal will possible damage the plastic.

Everything done is reversible, I know not everyone will share my taste so when the time comes or I get bored with it she goes back to her beautiful silver ;)

Ill continue to update on the progress, am also considering adding the aero kit and with the dip I don't have to worry about paint Lol

Thanks, yes I love the original look too but this is temporary so is ok, and by the way she's titanium silver :)

Honestly I hate it Flat black was out of style at least 3 years ago. I am not a plasti dip hater like most people so maybe if it was white it would be better :dunno: just my opinion on flat black...Like you said its no perminate.

3 years ago? maybe online Lol, so far very uncommon around here ;) so far am getting a lot of positive attention. Lets see how it holds up, hopefully until Bimmerfest East thus year.

Damn looks tough. Love it in normal color with black wheels too. Get some LCI tail to finish up that rear. Looks like you did a nice and even job. A lot of these PD jobs come out looking all spotted up.

Looks good. The wheels on my 996 are plasti-dipped but I just don't think I could get over doing the whole car and seeing a different color when I open the doors.

Thanks, door jams can be done but that would be more for permanent job not for PD although some people have done it. Am ok with it

If nothing else, it is a very large protective paint bra!

Sorry, I was just thinking of how all that plastic is protecting (I assume it is) your paint!

It is looking better - I too would like to see some better res pictures!

yes is protecting the paint, aside from popular believe PD does not affect the clear coat. the stories people hear are people that have dipped a shitty paint job before the paint cured and when pulled of the PD took the clear...

am very happy with it, love how aggressive it looks, and its funny everywhere i go people give compliments and when i tell them what it is, first thing out of their mouth is "can i touch it?" lol

P.S will continue to look for the camera charger !

Update.

Had to remove the dip from the body :( apparently the cold temperature caused a lot of stripping on the doors after settled, the dip remains on the roof which has no issue and looks great as well as on the wheels and eyelids.

below are some pictures
