Alarm issue HELP!!!
I have a 2009 x5 4.8i and everytime I'd press the alarm it goes off. Anyone ever experience this? What did u do to fix it?
Thanks, Sam |
You mean the button on the key fob to open the liftgate?
|
When I hit the lock button on the key fob, the alarm goes beeping crazy
|
BMW says malfunctions like this can be as a result of "local radio waves".
Does your other key fob do this? Does it do this when you're parked in a different location? I wonder if your key fob battery is discharged. A long drive might help. |
Thanks Brian5 for your feedback, I just went outside to use the other key fob and the alarm works now. Lets see if this does the trick in the long run.
Thanks again!! Sam |
Well after a few days of using the of the two key fob, the alarm is going crazy again as soon as I press the lock button. Is there a sensor somewhere? Is there a battery I can replaced on the alarm?
Thanks, Sam |

After a couple months after my post, the alarm cured itself. Now the only problem is when I press the alarm on or off, it doesn't beep. I adjust the idrive menu, still nothing, no beeps!! Could it be my alarm horn?? Anyone ever change this?? Is it hard??
Thanks, Sam |
Anyone??
|
It's been a few months now my alarm works ok except when I arm and disarm the alarm there's no chirp. I played with the idrive setting with no luck. I think it's the alarm horn. Have anyone experience this kind of problem?? Anyone know where the alarm horn located at??
Thanks, Sam |

No Bmw mechanics here???

I had a similar problem. There were 3 points of interest..
1) Battery. You car is a 2009. Battery is therefore 5 years old. Have you replaced yet? 2) Hood switch. PS of vehicle. Look for a button near the washer tank. Easy disconnect to determine if that makes a difference. 3) Roof sensor. This was the culprit on mine after I replaced 1 and 2 above. Hope that helps ed |

3) Where is the Roof sensor Thanks, Sam |

2) Center upper console (where the switches for the pano roof would be). Do a search for "Ultrasonic Passenger Compartment Motion Detector" As someone else pointed out, there was a recall for them being defective. |
