Windshield washer pump

Hey guys,

Before i get blasted, I did a search, and came up with NOTHING!! My question is that when I pull the stalk for the washer fluid, the pump makes no noise, but the wipers do turn on. The rear washer wiper works perfect, making the pump noise.

I assumed that the washer tank was empty, but it was almost full... any thoughts?:dunno:

Also, this happened after the dealer replaced my radiator, can this be a coincidence, or just bad luck?

thanks.
ak.

I'm having the inverse problem. Front washer/wipers work fine, rear wiper works, but rear washer does not. I cannot even hear the motor. Checked the fuses and could not find anything wrong with them. I suspect the pump motor went bad.

Fuses

Do you happen to know the exact fuse numbers for the front/rear washer pump? I did my best at deciphering of the fuse diagram provided with the vehicle, but had no luck.

Sounds like you have a pump that's gone bad. The pumps are separate but located around the fluid tank if I recall correctly. The largest pump is the headlight washer and the two smaller should be the rear/front.

Same problem last week. Headlight Washer and windshield pumps goes bad. I replaced both and now its ok.

I did a simple test to find what happen with my no working pumps: If any pump works, disconnect the plug and test on others, its easy!

headlight pump is high pressure pump, as it washes the lights with blast of water and no mechanical interference... the two other pumps are the same, you may try to swap the connectors from the known good one to the questionable pump, and see if it works...

these are fuses related to the wipers - F14, F40, F41, F28, F81, F34

This is a great idea but I could not find the connectors to hook up the windshield pump control wires to the rear window pump. Could you snap a picture and show how to get there?

Thanks a lot!

6 fuses for two motors and two pumps? I remember pulling and checking 34 and 41, as well as several other fuses around them. All of the were in the front fuse box under the passengers kickplate. The rear fuse box was somewhat handy to get a cryptic fuse diagram and fuse removal tool :)

two motors, two (or three) pumps, rain sensor... those are fuses that are related to the wipers, directly, or by proxy... :D
