Same problem started yesterday for me on my 2008 x5 3.0. p0306 error. I replaced cylinder 6's ignition coil and had no luck. I also replaced all 6 spark plugs and had no luck. Now after all this work I get the following codes p0300, p0301, p0304, and p0306. (Could I have done something wrong?)

I spoke to a local mechanic and he told me that it was a vacuum leak and that it would cost me around 1200 to fix. I do trust him but I just cant see that being the issue. Does anyone have any advice on what I could try next before I bring it to the mechanic?

You spoke to him and he quoted $1200 and you trust him?

I'd have a hard time trusting someone throwing those numbers at me on a phone call.....

Do you have the ability to look at other parameters? If you have an air leak you will probably have AFRs and short and long term fuel trim issues.

Whoa.. here is a reboot. I just ran into the same problem again.. Thanks god I bought an extra one, but now I am considering replacing everything (Coils and spark plugs). I am at 85k is it to early to do this or should i replace the bad one and keep moving

Don't spend money replacing all coils and sparkplugs. If your misfire is on one cylinder simply switch sparkplug and coil to another cylinder. If the problem (code) remains at the original cylinder you know it is not the sparkplug or coil. If the misfire moves to the new cylinder replace the plug and or coil.
