07 e70 3.0l Oil Consumption?
 

Just changed my oil today after 7000 miles. I recovered about 5.5 quarts...so 1.5 was burned off? Is this normal? It has 59000 miles on it.

Who knows.... that is not an accurate way to measure oil consumption.

If you could accurate measure oil recovered AND wring out the oil filer..>AND measure precisely how much you added to get to the top mark, this might be OK

But you SHOULD simply top off the oil and monitor how much it takes to keep it at the top mark.


BMW's common limit is 1 liter per kilometer. Or one quart per 600 miles, roughly.
