Another nail in my tire, another replacement under the tire warranty

This is my 5th in less than 3 years of the warranty (have 2 more years left). All have been the rears--about $2,500 in tires and paid $1,000 for the warranty.

Well at least you got your money's worth! I'm sure the tire warranty price at the POS will be going up soon for any new buyers LOL :rofl:

Ha yeah. My SA says the 20"s they see the most claims on where as most of the others they don't (surface area of the tire has something to do with it I bet). Being that Dallas (and Texas) has such a strong economy means more growth which means a lot of commercial construction--which also means more nails in the road ha.

Stop rolling through construction zones on the way home from the ammunition stores my all American E70 driving comrade!

Ah, I'd love to move to Texas (apparently I need to keep my wheels away from Dallas though lol!)

Hey those runflats on the E70's are expensive as shit I'm sure, you ever think of getting non-runflats as replacements if you needed to? The extra weight and stiffness was brutal in my mother-in-law's ex-E83, definitely much more noticeable over non-RFT. Just some food for thought!

Well I have the 3rd row seats (bought it off a lease return in Los Angeles--the lady had ordered those) which means no spare so I really need to stay with the RFTs. I did switch from the Dunlops to the Bridgestones since a little cheaper and longer treadlife rating. The RFTs that were used on those E53 4.4's were the Michelin Diamaris from what I recall--which are a really stiff tire (and strictly a Summer tire). I've gotten about 16K miles on the Bridgestones and not even worn so hopefully get 35K-40K miles on them.

I'm at 4 in 11 months - 3 nails and 1 blow out. All the nails were on my rear tires. Gotta love tire insurance

I've had one nail in over 50k miles, two E70s over 4 years.

At $1500 for the package I am $1480 ahead.

Go figure.

Blame it on California's lackluster economy :stickpoke

Two E53s and one E70 never an issue. X6 50i picked up one nail. The ///M is a nail magnet :dunno:

The 20" wheels are the main suspect--such a wide tire compared to all of the other BMW tires (and most other cars).
