AWD and DSC malfunction plus engine oil min level suddenly !
Just finished a 400 mi road trip and just before I got home I got the warnings above about an hour apart. First where is the damn dipstick and do I add a quart up top or under the damn car? Next I might have a shot battery as it's original which could cause funkiness. Or, a steering angle sensor. First things first I need to test the battery. Anybody know what is up with the 4x4 issue? I have noticed if the X5 set for several days at the shop or wherever, I would get "high battery drain" warning & the clock would be reset.
80k mi on the sled. Edit: Found the filler cap and added a quart of Mobil1. Battery tests at 12.39 so buh bye battery. Should I get the Autocraft AGM battery or the Interstate AGM? I always buy Interstate but if the AC battery isn't a POC the price sure looks nice.... Can anyone weigh in on this who decided to go with this less expensive battery? Can't get Autocraft in TX..... |
Not sure about which battery is best, but do know you need to have someone register it to the SAV so that it gets a proper charge (and I'd throw a charger on it before i put it in).
I think that will resolve all of your issues. |
I'm looking at Interstate H8-49 AGM and equivalent Continental as I have an insider there. Benz uses Continental but wasn't sure if I'd ever heard of BMW owners using them. Gotta find a local independent to code the battery I realize. My go to guy keeps getting his phone shut off. Everyone else wants to break it off in your ass these days around here. Makes me want to get my own diag equipment for my Porsche and this X5. I'll charge it too.
The X5 battery tests at 12 V when it has sat overnight. Dead! |
