Rear camera '08
 

Hi fellow x5-ers,

ive read thru many of the threads on the rear camera. is there no solution to the lack of usability at night of our cameras? i would have thought we could just swap out the one that is there for a better one but i am guessing its not that simple?

Its not that simple, new camera means new JBBF module. Also, the resolution is different, so it won't work with the CCC. If you want a new camera, you'll need to swap the CCC for the CIC too

what about swapping out the reverse lights and license plate bulbs with LED. are they any brighter and do the ones that say error free avoid throwing a code?

I have LED plate lights and they don't help at night at all. Others have said if you mount a light bar which makes the road behind really bright, it helps.

EBay has got these night vision, waterproof lenses. Can you not swap it with one of those? This CCC sucks.
