E70 LCI Steering wheel retrofit (Question)
 

Dear friends,

I have the standard steering wheel on my X5 LCI and i wish to install the Sport one. My question is: can I use my Airbag from standard steering wheel and change only the cover ? Ar both Airbags same and only the cover is different ? (32306780475 is the standard one and 32306780476 is for the sport and M-Sport steering wheel)

BMW said that you neeed a different airbag for retrofitting the Sport Steering wheel from the standard one.

wont fit, the sport AB cover is smaller. and if am not mistaken the cover is attached to the airbag.

as it is it wont fit, true, but the idea was to take the cover from the airbag out and put the sport cover on the old airbag.

that if the airbags are identical, the one from standard and the one from sport.

Yes, you can just change the covers - IF you can source one and brave enough to mess with it.

Im selling my m-sport steering wheel from my 2011 X5 50i if anybody is interested. Air bag not included

I managed to find a M Steering Wheel with Airbag for 600€ and installed it.
I could not find any TeileNr. on the Airbag to compar it, they look alike but I am not 100% sure..
