Replacement AGM Battery?

My 2007 CPO was at the dealer for a final checkup and they informed me that my battery needed replacing and wanted $550 for the job. So I did some searching on battery info and looked at which type of battery I actually have back there.

I assume I have the newer AGM battery with 90AH S:61217551331 due to the fact of it being a CPO which I purchased in 2011, and the dealer probably replaced and coded with a new battery:dunno:? (please see attached pic) Can someone confirm if indeed I have the AGM battery and any recommendation on replacements. I see Interstate MT5-49/H8 being mentioned or should I just get one from the stealers. I understand the coding vs. registering the battery and plan on sticking with the same 90AH battery. Thanks

I got H8 AGM battery from Advanced Auto Parts... there is a coupon for 15% off online - you place an order online to be picked up at your local store - the store did not have any coupons but the online coupon worked!!! I think Auto Zone has a similar deal...

Also, the Advanced sent me "chaser" coupon for $25 off $50 purchase since the original purchase was over $xx dollars - a battery purchase qualifies for the extra $25 off $50 purchase "chaser" coupon... The deal is good until end of December 2013...

you still need to code the battery to the car though...

I haven't used the Odyssey automotive batteries; however, I use then in my Motorcycles and find them to be much better than any other batteries I've tride in the past. They are rather pricey though.

I agree. I have used them on my bikes in the past as well. They are very good, but way too pricey.

I bought from Advanced Auto last week with a $50 off coupon. Retails is/was $199 at my location including the core charge. After I return the orignal battery my total including tax will be just under $150.

FYI, I haven't installed the battery yet. I just trickle charged it in my garage yesterday and unplugged it yesterday. I might install it tonight or next weekend. I'm still trying to find somone local who can register the battery instead of paying $50 to my indy.

Just one caution, if your state/locality requires emissions inspections, make sure you replace the battery at least few weeks before the due date. I overlooked this and to my surprise 2 weeks/thousand miles later I still can't pass it due to couple of sensors being "not ready".

There are driving cycles published that are supposed to make your car "ready", but it may tough to execute depending on where you normally drive, and frankly speaking one would think couple hundred miles should suffice.
