Dash lights up "limit" on test drive
I am in the process of buying a e70 x5. Test drove one tonight at a local used car lot and at a very low speed the cluster would show "limit". In my research looks like it has something to do with the navigation. Anyone know how to disable it.
Is there an online resource on how to change the settings on this car. Its very overwhelming the amount of options. The 2 cars I looked at did not come with a manual. thanks fellas. |
There is a speed warning limit that you can set in the CIC. Its under settings ->speed

Like Dragon said, you can set it so you dont get carried away on the speed without noticing. I set mine at 145km/hr(150km/hr is an automatic court appearence)....caught my wife going that fast because she didnt know what it was and it scared her so she had call me :D. It likely also chimed when you hit that speed? It is easy to disable or change in the iDrive.

Thanks for the info guys. I actually found the manual online in a pdf. I cannot believe the amount of options this car has.

Are you from Alberta originally? I think I went to high school in Camrose with Mike Ross.

I had a 335i that would do that. It was nothing to do with the speed
setting. If you pulled out on the road and had to give it gas to merge into traffic. Would chime and kill power and say limit. had the speed set high so was not that. Took it in a couple of time but never found a code or something wrong. Got so if had to merge made sure had room, because if it killed the power another car could run up on you fast. |
