2014 Navigation Update...

Dealer informed me of a 2014 Navigation and Firmware update available for my X5M which i assume means it is available for all X5 with this navigation system. Does anyone here have the 2014 version installed? Any meaningful or noticeable differences? Speed limit info available on the newest version?

Any updates on the satellite maps?

I realized on the Navigation maps zoomed out to 1 mile (i think) the view is satellite maps.

However my X is a 2011 and I'm not sure if there was an improvement on satelite maps after that.

I updated my own GPS after purchasing our new 2011 X5. The map was never updated by previous owner so I did it by downloading the map to a 32 GB stick and purchasing an FSC code from a guy I dealt with in the past... Paid $45 for what BMW charges $245. Anyone interested in this procedure for the CIC HD GPS, please PM me.

No speed limit on North America Versions... Europe, yes.

Your update description makes no sense whatsoever.

You stick the memory card into the glove-box slot, enter the FSC code, hit enter and you are DONE. It will take the car 30 minutes to update the maps, so take a scenic drive or leave the engine on....

shame... in the tech department audi wins again. such a practical feature and in new areas or rural areas it comes in very handy.

True icono, it has road closures/repairs as well as real time accident reports however.
