X5 3.5 VS DIESEL

Hi Guys,
I have 09 X5 4.8, pretty loaded. I was think about trading it for a 6 cylinder or diesel variant. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Looking to save some gas. I'm assuming the 6 cylinder/diesel is more reliable than the 8.Thx.

Diesel all the way between the 4.8 and the diesel. Between the 35i and the diesel, the choice becomes tougher

Imo, regardless of the car type you trade for, the arithmetic will be difficult to justify in terms of "save some gas".

Your current '09 is worth 'x', and a new or used replacement of any brand may cost as much or more than your current trade in value. It takes a long time/lots of miles and remarkably better mpg to justify a different car for 'better mpg/fuel costs' for cars of same or nearly equal cost.

One can rationalize a new or different car; the arithmetic to justify 'cost savings' on the fuel consumption angle is a different story, imo.

Thanks for all the feedback. Maybe I will feel different after my car returns from the shop ;(
