Steering wheel tilt stopped working - help new owner
 

Hi (2007 BMW X5 3.0si) recently my auto up and down steering wheel convenience feature stopped working the other morning. The wheel still goes up and down but not in and out and funny thing is when I try to move it in and out the dash lights that power the climate control go out and then come on again.

Is there a way to reset the vehicle without having to provide a code for the radio after; ie similar to doing a battery disconnect?

From what you described, sounds like an electrical issue somewhere, but you can try resetting the steering wheel. Bring it all the way out and up, and then turn off the car and it will retract. Then when you start the car again, set it to where you like it and it should save that setting again.

Thanks, but that is part of the issue it won't go out or in, just up and down.
