Replaced my Run flats for regular

Replaced my Run flats for regular tires, because I was told it rides better, I tried fitting a spare in the back it does not fit, do I need to put a doughnut there or can I find a smaller tire. Any suggestion

Buy the BMW space saver spare. Won't help you when you get a flat and have to carry the flat tire though.

Really? Just any old 'regular' tire will always "ride better" than all the runflat models?

In your opinion IS THIS TRUE? (What tire did you get, what did you have originally?)

Anyway, the ONLY spare tire for the X5 is a compact 'donut' sized tire. You can buy it here:

I did the same also. Got Hankook Ventas AS 255-55-18. This is my 5th set 3 on '06 (non runflat) and 2 on the '10 (formerly runflat). They are ok for the money. Got the spacesaver wheel and tire seperately. Don't forget the jack.

the dunlop sport maxx gt dsst are pretty good RFT... i had them on my 48i m-sport and i preferred them over the bridgestone RFT.

I have a set of these tires and I really like them. The sides are a little soft and you have to keep the air pressure a bit on the high side to get a nice ride but they track really straight, they don't follow the crown on the road and they are nearly half the price of Michelins. I am impressed.

i sold a spare spare (i had two) and i got $450 for it. so i imagine that is the going rate on the forums. i believe from the dealer it is a $600 purchase (iirc).
