Well that post saved me some time and frustration!

not all 2005 e53's have the 72.6mm bore size. my 2005 4.4i has a 74mm bore and i swapped the wheels between the 2005 e53 and my 2011 e70. you can see the before and after here: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...6-im-back.html

ive seen charts that suggest the bore size for all 2005 e53's is 72.6mm. in my real life experience that claim is inaccurate. you might find this chart helpful. Bolt pattern | Stud Pattern : Bolt Pattern list 5*X*120

What's "SLS"

Today I put on some 20 inch wheels, staggered, with 315s in the rear and 275s in front. Of course the tires being new has an effect, but the lower profile helps the feel as does the wider rubber. I probably will get more understeer - should have put the wide ones on front! I'll drive it like this for a while to see how much better it is versus just being different.
