X5 INSPECTION.
 

Any one here from Charleston, S.C. I found an X5 2012 there that i really want to pull a trigger, but im from Chicago. It is a consignment from the original owner. If anyone can do the inspection i would appreciate it, im willing to pay for your time. Location:

Two comments:

ask someone to do a "driveby" not "inspection".

Ask people to recommend a qualified shop to do a Pre-Purchase INSPECTION.


You want a once over by just a civilian to see if there are obvious issues, BEFORE you spend $$$ for a PPI. If you think you can rely on someone here doing the full inspection, you are being foolish. most people cannot, and virtually everyone wont want the responsibility of doing an "inspection"

What i'd like someone to do for me is to make sure the vehicle is physically there and the place is legit, possibly the exterior condition, definitely not a full inspection.

First problem is that the VIN advertised with the vehicle (BMW X5 5.0i xDrive | Distinct Autos) is not the white X5 50i car shown in the pictures ... (see attached VIN PDF. That car is SCHWARZ=BLACK!).

Thanks for pointing that out. Options listed from dealer does not matched the vin# either, its kind of fishy. I am sending an email to dealer right now. Plus the story from the owner is also questionable.

Is it legit or big time scam?
Me asking: Do you accept cashier's check or money order in a form of a payment, or just bank wire? Is it a correct vin# you listed?

i spoke to you earlier today regarding the above vehicle. Sorry, it was a busy day for me, could not do this until now. I can't think of much to ask other than a couple questions:
Is the vehicle payoff with clean and clear title in hand?
Can you send me a copy of the title and registration?
Are you allow an inspection?

Seller response:
The X5 is still for sale but I have already handed it into consignment to a dealership in Charleston, SC. The BMW is technically still mine, the dealership only has power of attorney over it so either I find a buyer or they do. No dealership tax/fees will be applied for this sale. If you want you may contact the dealer. Although they may have advertised it at a different price, if you tell them you were referred by the original seller the price will be the same as advertised by me and they will honor it.

The vehicle has been paid off, there is no lean on it.We have the title in hand but unfortunately I am not authorized to send it out unless we sign a Vehicle Order contract.Also, we do allow inspection.

5. TEN DAYS MONEY BACK GUARANTEE:

and to refund the Buyer, without any conditions, within the extent of the inspection
period.
5.2 The inspection period begins at 12:01 am, the weekday following the delivery day, as

The scam is when he says "the dealer has it, I need a deposit- go ahead and call the dealer he will confirm they have the car"

You call, his buddy/brother/himself confirms 'yes we have the car'...you send the deposit, gone.

Another scam is the 'when the shipper confirms the car is loaded, you wire the money' scam...problem is the shipper is a scammer too.

There are literally hundreds of used Xs out there in For Sale Land that should be in the OP's strike zone.

Move on, keep looking, find a legit 'seller'.
