08 4.8i, key fob problems w/ CA
 

Hi all,

I have a 2008 x5 4.8i with the comfort access option. I am having some issues with the key fob. unlock/lock does not work, pretty much the only function that works is the start/stop without the key fob placed in the key holder. is this an issue with the key fob or with the comfort access? can any fuses be the culprit? i've tried replacing the battery inside the key fob, no luck.

My guess is the key fob. Test with a known working key fob (i.e. your spare). Trying reprogramming you non working fob. They can and do fail. Engine start uses a passive RFID chip, so fob can be dead and engine will still start.

I only have one fob, plastic fob in glove box is missing. Any fuses I can look at?
