Introducing myself E70 owner here...

Just thought I'd finally introduce myself - been lurking on here a while and posted a bit. First I'd like to Thank the community here for all the good info - came to this site many times looking for answers when I had issues or needed some knowledge.

I purchased an 08 4.8 space gray w/52K that already had 215's back in Jan 2014 with CPO ending in late July 2014, already had quite the list of issues fixed under warranty which I sometimes feel I made a bad choice that is until I drive it daily :) I also lightly rear-ended someone last week which I'll end up getting a new bumper/fender since it hit both in the right place :(

Anyway, It's my DD/Tow/Family hauler and I put about 85 miles a day on it commuting. So far I've had the oem hitch installed by the dealer and blacked out the front grilles, added weisslicht angel eyes, full led interior light upgrade & Lic plate lights, added the aluminum sport pedals and installed K&N filters myself and upgraded to BMW floor liners as well. Next I'm debating on aero kit and painting the emblems black or just removing the #'d badges.

Not really new to BMW's as my wife drives a E90 335i and I also have an E36 M3 mainly for autox/track days. Here's a recent pic of my rides at a track day. Looking forward to posting on here more and hopefully in the future providing some info.

Cheers, Mike

Well a couple reasons...I looked up the possible oil in the MAF issues, dirt build up etc etc but I'm not too worried about it. I wanted the .0005 more MPG :) since I use my X to commute 80+ miles day! I've had k&n's in all my NA cars for more than 15 yrs w/o any issues. Afe drop-in my E36 for the last 4 yrs.

No seriously...my filters needed replacing and after inspecting the air box there was quite a bit of sand/dirt in there. They're still building houses on my street/neighborhood and there's plenty of sand flying around so I thought I'd give this a shot and see it if helps any...will be checking it periodically. If needed I'll go back to stock.

damn 85 miles a day. you must be a the gas station a LOT. lol I work from home and the gas is getting to be a bit extreme.

Yes I know :( we moved further out about a year ago to be closer to my wife's family when our 2nd daughter came...but it's not all cracked up as it's supp'd to be. We're saving them $ not us...We are both paying way more to be out there and it really SUCKS! I do get to WFH one day a week tho. but it still adds up really quick. Hopefully I can buy a beater to commute next year or trade up for X5D which is what I originally wanted.
