Finally got the Aero Kit Installed
 

I finally got the aero kit installed recently, took some time to post pics. After I got some wild quotes of upto $1200 to just paint the aero kit, I experimented with painting it myself, and needless to say that effort ended in not great results. I have a few pictures from that effort which I could share for the curious.

Finally got it painted when the car was in the shop for a minor scrape, and the shop gave me a little discount on the paint and install.

BTW it is an aftermarket kit and cost less than $300. I plan on applying a chrome film on the middle sections once the paint is cured enough, so that I can remove if it doesn't look good.

6 years in, you finally got one. ;) I got it as part of my original order and they marked it all the way up to $2300 installed. I had no choice though (no aftermarkets at the time and I had no idea of the real cost of the part) and other dealers wouldn't budge on the cost of the car itself (while still marking it up at $1500).

Looks good, like a perfect replica to me.

LOL, it took a while. Actually it is my wife's daily driver and she was never too keen on spending thousands on "car" accessories, now handbags and shoes is different matter ;) When the price dropped due to the widely available replicas, she gave in :D

I remember creating the photochops a while back with the silver/chrome middle section before BMW followed with their LCI silver lip, lol. I bought the silver film along with the kit, will be installing it shortly. Will post pictures on this thread.

BTW, the replica looks exactly like OEM, it even had the BMW logos etc on the back, probably from the mold they created from the original. Some of the shops couldn't distinguish it from the OEM.
