2012 X5 vs 2014 Grand Cherokee

Looking at 2 SUVs now. A 2012 X5 35 with 23k miles and is certified through bmw. Second choice is a new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee fully loaded. Both are nice. It's for my wife so I'm not sure what is better. I currently have a 07 X5.

The jeep is about $2k cheaper but new. Both are around the same size which is good for a 3 & 1 year old.

Any suggestions would be great!

Crazy! First time I've seen this! Why do they sell so many! There everywhere!

The 2014 that the OP is considering passed the test with flying colors.

Imo, for a CEO's daily driver, with kiddoes, and in CO, I would take the new Grand Cherokee.

So with the BMW you have 27k left 2 year bumper to bumper and additional 2 year upto 100k CPO warranty .

What do you get with the jeep?

Personally I don't think you can beat the safety of our X5's . Time and time again in this forum we read the stories of bad accidents and occupants walk away . Wonder if the jeep had same peace of mind .

I agree! I'm just worried about long term problems with the X? I've had my fair share of BS problems that go with the E70. I have some friends that have the grand Cherokees and love them. Normal wear and tear stuff.

Scary!Too much weight transfer and then the things get really nasty.I didnt try it,but I am pretty sure my X5 will lean a bit, execute the manoevur and ask for another one immediately.
I have no idea how the "07+ Mercedes ML will execute this moose test, but in my opinion it may be as bad as the GC.

Moose are pretty sparse, in CO...

I've done this "MOOSE" avoidance maneuver in my 300 MBZ and the X5 more than once late at night and never once got the Jeeps results.
No Moose in Nor Cal so far just road obstructions and idiots. However If the results for the Jeep are correct then Imo, for a CEO's daily driver,
with kids, I don't think I would consider the Jeep.
