Fluids recommended for replacement

My '08 3.0SI spends 6 months per year in WA state and 6 months in SoCal. It is approaching 70k miles and other than engine oil, brake fluid, and coolant, it has had no other fluids replaced.

The vehicle is completely reliable, and I intend to keep it many years. I do all of my own maintenance, and I am about to replace the water pump, t-stat, and coolant, in advance of any problems. What fluids should I replace before leaving for winter quarters in the Southwest?

Ciao,
Dick

Differential fluid front and rear, transfer case fluid, power steering fluid(yearly), brake fluid(2years), transmission fluid.

Just check your maintaince book and follow the described procedural steps and you'll be fine.

Thank you for your recommendation. While I understand brake fluid replacement every two years, as protection mainly from corrosion caused by moisture egress, I don't understand power steering fluid annually. Particularly in a vehicle that is averaging 12K miles per year. Am I missing something here?

As to transmission, is a filter change also recommended at the current 70K miles.

Dick

Actually you are right. Every 30k or two years is what's generally recommended. I personally tend to do it the easy way every year by doing the suction out of fluid followed by clean fluid refill 3 times with the steering wheel turned hard left to hard right 10 times the 3 suction & refill method. Some old fluid always remains I believe so I do it yearly. Just my way of doing it but following factory recommendation is quite ok.
Thanks!
