Well, I don't have any experience with the BAPMIC brand but I've only been into BMWs heavily since 2008 or so. Just searching Google for the name comes up with a lot of references to the business and them as an importer of parts. It makes me wonder where they actually come from and who actually makes the part.

Typically, the price between an OE part, i.e., a BMW-branded part, and an OEM part, i.e., Bosch, Lemforder, VDO, Hella, etc. is 25%. A decent quality aftermarket part might be 50% or slightly less but this BAPMIC part is a quarter of the cost of a BMW part. Of course, the above generalities are just that, general rules/expectations; there are always differences in actual street prices and offerings.

I wouldn't make my decision solely based on price but whereas I can find no information on BAPMIC that even provides a hint at the quality or value of the parts they provide, manufacture or import or what experience they have providing those parts, I would probably try and find another provider.

Who knows, it might be an okay part but the fact remains that there is a $600 difference between it and the BMW part. Where is that difference made up at? Probably boot quality, maybe it's a remanufactured piece, maybe it's just poor/cut-rate casting/forging/machining. I would have no way of knowing and THAT would bother me. Since it is not a small job I want as little risk going in on the part as I can manage. Not having an idea makes me uncomfortable.

All that being said, I don't have a clue who the OEM is for BMW E70 CV axles.

stampfki,
Did you ever order this part? I'm looking at a pair of front axle shafts on Ebay for $149. I have no problems with mine but have 190,000 miles on my 2011 Diesel and want to replace them as preventative maintenance.

I know you are doing due diligence...but I would be pretty comfortable betting $$$ these 'no name, no vendor' knock offs will NOT deliver 190,000 miles.

Simple stuff like very low quality rubber boots can doom these kinds of parts- even assuming the machine parts are tolerances properly, hardened accurately, etc etc.

My 2 cents

No, I didn’t. Finally ended up with an used one OEM from eBay.
