Newbie Trying to Learn the ways of the mechanic and cost of repairs

Hi All,

Please overlook my newbieness and probably the stupid questions I am about to ask, but I ask that you please educate me.

I took my 2010 X5 3.0 in for repairs, and am trying to figure out how much I should be charged vs how much i am getting charged on parts and labor

To list out what is getting done

Front Brake Service: Rotors, Pads, Sensor
Rear Brake Service: Rotors, Pads, Sensor
Brake Flush Service
Oil Change
Replacement of 2 Air Filters

So if you could educate, using OEM parts, what the parts cost should be, and then if someone could comment on a fair hourly rate for the labor, and the length of time it should take to do all these things

And how much the total charge should be

Thanks

Are you going to a dealer or an independent shop?
